Bought and installed new hinges. Repair took about an hour but I also cleaned all the glass inside and out on both oven doors. I had ordered extra screws as I read the old ones that hold the hinges were hard to get in as they were self taping but the screw labeled 5 next to the hinge were not the right ones. Replace broken or pinched gas orifice tubes feeding your range burners. Common when lifting cooktop for cleaning or repairs. DIY install in 1-2 hours.
Replaced the lines, however the model maytag I was working un is a poor design. When you lift the top up to access the lines, you are putting pressure on the gas lines. If you lift it up, then down several times; then you risk bending the tubing and it will break. My recomendation is for do-it-yourselfers to lift it, install it, and close it in one step so you don't bend or break the lines again. Hope this helps. Brian Read more

Relpaced both sets of gas lines/burners. They came with Natural gas orafaces preinstalled, so I backed them out with a wrench and reused my LP orafaces instead. Worked like a dream should. Orafaces were snug, taking out and putting in, but they are coated with some sort of pipe sealer. Maybe took 30 minutes to remove, swap orafaces, then replace the new parts. Works perfectly! This is a genuine lock nut replacement. This is a general piece of hardware that is often used on several types of lawn and garden equipment, including in engines, housing, and other areas. When properly secured, the lock nut tightens to a bolt and uses an extra locking washer with teeth to ensure a snug fit.If lock washers do get damaged or lost, they need to be replaced immediately with a genuine OEM replacement. Lock nuts will need to be installed using a socket wrench or adjustable wrench. I had to remove the oven door, which I learned is made to come off without tools. Then took out the bottom by removing two screws and lifting. Removed the screws attaching the igniter, pulled wires thru back until I could get the connector and disconnect. When the new igniter arrived, I had to change the connector. I cut the one off the old one, and spliced to the new one using solder and shrink tubing. Just reverse the procedure to install. I replaced the screws with new ones. Read more

Began by replacing the burner and igniter assemblies. Learned that was not the solution. Proceeded with further diagnosing. Consulted online resources, such as Maytag website, and discovered that the two likely causes were either the spark module or wiring harness. Ordered both parts, and replaced inside of the oven. Figured out the problem ended up being a bad wiring harness. Read more
