Our microwave was arcing due to the shelf that is in the middle of the microwave and one of the holders became loose over time. In order to fix the problem I removed the loose holder, ordered microwave interior cavity paint and once that was received sanded down the two spots that were scorched from the shelf, applied three light coats of the microwave cavity paint, and then finally popped in the new shelf holder.
