This water level pressure switch senses air pressure from the tub and signals the control to stop filling at the correct level. Replacing a weak or failed switch restores proper filling, helps prevent over/underfilling, and allows cycles to advance.
The error code indicated the washer wasn't getting any water, although the basket was filling to an unusually high level. After checking the inlet hoses and their connections but without opening the top cover to see the actual water level pressure switch, I went ahead and ordered the part.
