Fix a microwave that runs but won't heat with this capacitor. Works with magnetron and diode to restore heating function. Moderate DIY repair.
Replaced both of the top door switches in control panel AP4429884 and AP5950105 Made by: Whirlpool need torx drive to remove switch from cabinet. Read more
Molded wire clip that secures wiring and harnesses to the microwave cabinet. Replace if broken, cracked, or missing to prevent wire rubbing and chafing.
Microwave fan stopped or making noise? This blower wheel restores proper airflow and cooling. Common fix for overheating units. DIY repair in 20 minutes.
The fan that cools the main unit had started making noise a few weeks ago, I tried cleaning and lubricating the bearings, but the fan would make noise when it heated up, then finally stopped. I replaced the fan, it was up and running within 20 minutes of receiving the parts. Read more
Microwave won't power up or shuts off after seconds? Failed thermostats cause intermittent operation. Test for continuity—straightforward repair.
Removed OTR microwave. Checked the thermostat switches while power was applied with a DVM. Noticed that when a certain set of wires was moved the slightest bit the microwave would power up. Traced the wires to the thermostat switch for the cavity. Noticed that where one (of two) Faston terminals was crimped to the thermostat switch was black. (should be copper colored). That is a sure sign of arcing from a loose connection. Since the specification for the switch was to trip at 248F degrees... Read more
Microwave not heating but all other functions work? This magnetron thermostat protects against overheating. Easy DIY repair in under an hour.
Removed unit from wall and took outer shell off, de-energized capacitor and then took a multi-meter and tested all the High voltage parts and magnetron. They tested out fine other than the diode and then I looked at the "Safety" circuit if you will the power loop that goes through door switches and thermostats to energize the High Voltage transformer and magnetron. Turns out the thermostat that is on the side of the magnetron wasn't closed, so I took a butane torch and heated it up past the... Read more
If your microwave runs but won't heat food, the magnetron has likely failed. This high-voltage tube generates microwave energy. Moderate DIY difficulty.
This was an expensive Maytag over the stove type unit. Removal was easy, just two screws allow it to tip forward and then lift off the wall bracket. 14 screws around the outer shell and it lifts off to expose everything. Basic meter checks show the capacitor, diode, transformer, fuses all good. The ohm meter checks on the magnetron did not clearly show it to be bad, but with the only problem of not making things hot, it was the most likely problem. Ordered the magnetron and diode, very... If your microwave runs but won't heat, a failed magnetron capacitor may be the cause. This high-voltage component stores energy for the magnetron.
This thermistor measures temperature changes inside your microwave to control cooking functions and safety systems. It sends temperature readings to the control board to adjust power levels and cooking times. Replace this part if your microwave doesn't heat properly, overheats, or sensor cooking features don't work correctly.
Lower cabinet base for microwaves. Provides structural support and stabilizes the unit. Replace if cracked, damaged, or warped to restore level positioning.
Microwave not heating or heating poorly? The high voltage transformer powers the magnetron for proper cooking. Direct replacement part for various models.
