Ryan S Valparaiso , IN September 12, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Microwave Hood Combo MMV5208WB1 Broken door handle maytag range hood microwave I took the door off via the top torx screw pin, then pryed apart the plastic trim piece that surrounds the inner window pane with the mesh screen. I removed the inside window panel which was a little tricky, and replaced the door handle. I did it with nothing more than a flathead, Phillips, and a torx. It was very nice that AppliancePartsPros posted a link with video instructions. This easily saved me a couple hundred bucks since I didn't have to have Maytag do it. By the way, AppliancePartsPros has way better prices than anyone and LIGHTNING FAST SHIPPING!! Its like Amazon USED TO BE. I would definitely buy from here again! Joseph P Webster , NY April 04, 2017 Appliance: Model MMV5208WB-1 Broken microwave handle The fix required removal of the top vent cover and then the door. The inside of the door has a plastic trim ring that needs to be carefully removed using a flat blade screwdriver. Then there are two phillips screws and a number of plastic tabs securing the metal grate in place. After removal of that, you can access the two screws holding in the handle. When screwing in the handle, be careful about alignment, and be sure it is flush against the door surface. The amount of brittle plastic in this microwave is a bit disappointing. (Should be a quicker way to access specific videos). Instructions not quite right as to time and technique. Be prepared to loose a few tabs and fracture inner panel. Front panel pops off, not attached to hinge, and inner door window frame easily bent. Screws for handle attachment are not Phillips rather multi tined auto, machine drivers. Fortunately I have both.
