Ordered Bake Element, Y04100019 (Whirlpool AP4283614) to replace a broken bake element on my 30-year old Jenn-Air Model S125 Downdraft Slide-in electric range. Received the element very quickly but it had been damaged in shipping. Called AppliancePartsPros to report this and they quickly shipped another element - very easy process. To install the element, I turned off the power to the range, put on rubber gloves (just in case) and removed the two sheet metal crews at the rear of the oven -... Read more

Fix freezer icing and warm fridge temps by replacing a faulty defrost timer. Typical DIY repair takes 15-30 minutes with basic tools and a multimeter.
I took the bottom tray out of the freezer and found the coils iced up severely. I was reasonably sure the defrost timer was the problem and your tech said that was a good possibility. Ordered and replaced timer. (15 minutes) Problem fixed!!! Saved purchasing a new fridge at big bucks. We live over 40 miles from a service center so the cost of having a tech come out is astronomical. Thanks!!! Read more

Replace your refrigerator door gasket when torn or folded to restore proper sealing. Prevents warm temps and frost buildup. Verify fit by model number.
The gasket was the correct size, but the door style isn't very friendly for replacing the gasket. You have to push the new one into the existing slot and when you take out the old one the slot is too loose for a strong fit that retains the new gasket correctly. Solution, use a good grade of expanding glue, Gorilla Glue, and put a small bead around the backside of the gasket when you replace it. A small amount only. After being told by a service repairman that it would cost me close to $200 to repair, I resolved to just not use the dispenser. After about a year, I had decided that I wanted to repair it and would look at the options myself. At the least, I could figure out which parts were needed to repair it and have them on hand for a service guy if I determined I could not do the job myself. The more I studied it, the more I felt confident that I could do it, and sure enough, when the part arrived - a... Read more
