Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking water from the pump anytime there was water in the washer tub   Alex B. • Stamford , CT • June 30, 2014

My wife found soapy water on the floor of the laundry room. I removed the front access cover on the washer and found water in the bottom of the washer and seeping our the drain holes. Running a rinse and spin cycle showed water leaking out of the pump all the time there was water in the tub. I ordered this pump and after watching a youtube video of someone else doing it had no trouble installing it. Problem fixed. You do need a torx head screw driver T20 or T25 to remove the pump from the motor. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Mavt634aww grinding noise in wash cycle no movement in tub   Robert W. • San Angelo , TX • October 19, 2016

While trying to remove tub seal hub (which came off in six pieces I call it a "TOUGH" hub) I accidentally cracked the outside tub. I have received the new HT transmission which came with a new tub seal kit PN W102119156. I ordered a seal kit when I ordered the transmission not knowing it came with a tub seal. Encoder, Rotary (4-Position)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 37001263

This 4-position rotary encoder is the user-control input that lets the appliance detect selector knob positions so settings change reliably. It replaces a worn or faulty encoder to restore responsive cycle selection. What it does

  • Converts knob rotation into electrical signals so the control board reads selected settings
  • Replaces an encoder that causes intermittent or no response when turning the selector
  • Helps stop erratic or incorrect cycle selection caused by a worn or damaged shaft or contacts
  • Resolves clicking, jumpy, or unregistered position changes at the console
What's included
  • One rotary encoder (4-position) as pictured
Install notes
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair
  • Access usually requires removing the control panel or console; keep track of screws and fasteners
  • Handle the encoder and circuit board carefully to avoid ESD or mechanical damage
  • Test selector operation after reinstalling the panel and restoring power
