This retaining ring securely holds the rubber boot seal in place around your washer's door opening. It maintains the watertight connection between the door seal and tub to prevent leaks during operation. Replace it if water leaks from the door area, the boot seal has come loose, or if the ring is cracked or corroded.
The timer is located behind the control panel and controls the sequence and duration of wash, rinse, and spin cycles. Replace it if cycles don't advance properly, the washer gets stuck in one cycle, or if cycles run too long or too short.
