Then I insterted the top pin in the opening on the wash. I then slightly and carefully bent the new lid to insert the second pin. That was it! Looks great and opens with ease! Thanks! Needle nose pliers helped to push the short hinge pin through the lid hinge and into the dispenser bezel. Good as new. Read More... Donald O Arlington Hts , IL January 09, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH4000AWQ Very noisy bearings Took out the inner and outer tubs to offer better access to both bearings and the main seal. One YouTube video said remove both, the other said you only need to remove the inner tub. I found I cold not get the inner (front) bearing out of the outer tub until I removed it. It took a lot of effort to remove the 15-year-old bearings, but once they were out, the replace/rebuild portion went fairly smoothly. I had to use a slide hammer to get the rear bearing out, and a heavy hammer with a bearing disc to pound out the inner bearing. Not quite a "pressed fit," but close! Read More...
