Dishwasher had begun going through the cycles with not enough water in the chamber. Suspect was the water inlet valve. Checked the AppliancePartsPros video for this repair and ordered the valve from them. It arrived in a timely manner -as usual- and I pulled the dishwasher out, removed the kick toe cover, then the structural brace behind it then removed the valve. The 4 screws that hold the vent cover in place also hold the assembly inside the door that has the heater motor and other items. The four screws go through the assembly inside the door, through the door and into 4 plastic legs on the vent cover. Two of the legs on the vent cover were broken and therefore the vent cover and the assembly inside the door were not being held tight against the door. The water was leaking in that area. Read more

Although that this is a 10 yrs old appliance, I decided to repair it as it is part of the entire set in the kitchen. Changed the water inlet valve for the water problem. To fix the problem of washer running while door was open, took off the front panel and changed the plunger sw interlock and spring which fixed the problem of washer running while door was opened mid wash cycle. This is a combined motor and circulation pump assembly that drives water through the spray arms during the wash and rinse cycles. It is the main component responsible for recirculating water throughout the dishwasher tub. There is apparently a weakness in the design of the stemware gripper, since both grippers in the dishwasher exhibited the same fault in the same places.
