Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new. Removed door , removed old trim piece ( 3 ) screws . Removed and cleaned front door glass and cleaned as well as the rest of the door while I had it off .Reinstalled front panel and new bottom trim. Read more

Used thick pad on kitchen table to hold oven door. Open door to first position (broil) and used soft leather gloves to lift up and remove. Door is heaver than it looks. Used screw driver to remove all screws from bottom and side trims. Removed side trims then bottom trim. It was not part of the repair, but I removed front glass to clean. I used to have a ferret that liked to steal socks but I did not know she had been crawlinging into my stove to hide stuff. She had made a nest out of the insulation but did not hurt any wires.
