Fix burners that won't light, adjust, or maintain flame. This valve regulates gas flow to individual cooktop burners. Moderate DIY repair with hand tools.
I wasn't sure if it was the valve or the switch that was broken so I ordered both parts so I would be assured of being able to fix the range the same day I took it apart. It was a much bigger pain getting to the valves than I imagined but I did get it done. Turns out the two tiny screws holding the v@lve together wer backing themselves out and the stem was very loose. All of the information on the web repair sites said "replace the hinges as the springs are worn out." Didn't fix the problem. The top of the door still wouldn't seal, and the. Leaning latch wouldn't catch the door unless you pressed on the door. The inside panel of the door was fatigued. Too many turkeys were set on the door over the years.
