Microwave runs but won't heat, or stays on when door opens? A faulty door switch is the likely cause. DIY repair takes about 30 minutes with basic tools.
I diagnosed this problem via the web and the advice was spot on. The problem was a failure of the bottom door switch. I used a multimeter to verify that the switched never closed properly. Andrew helped me trouble shoot the problem. First I replaced the elments but that did not fix the problem. When I spoke with Andrew he told me how to test the OHMS on the new and old element and they were both readying 26 OHMS. I then replaced the control panel for the clock and oven controls. This did not fix the problem. The next step was to replace the relay boards. We placed numbers on the wires (~30) to avoid confusion. Taking notes also helped. Replacing both relay swithces took... Oven light won't turn off when door closes? This door-mounted light switch is often the culprit. Easy 5-minute fix—just unplug power and swap it out.
When trouble shooting the problem I found that the light switch housing outer lip was broken allowing the switch to push through mounting surface behind the oven door. This is a slide in range so, I proceeded to pull the range away from the counter where I could unplug the power cord. Once the power was off like located the panel on the right upper side of the unit and removed the screws to allow access to the switch.
