The problem was corrosion in the connector coming from the freezer door; the wire easily separated from the connector once I examined it. I had already bought a new freezer door, replacement part number WR78X11246, but the new door has a different connector. So, on speculation, I bought GE P/N WR09X10132 adapter wire, and it worked! When we inspected the first time we found that Plactic had broken from the spiral part that for wards the ice. Also there were cracks in two places of other parts. There was a hole in the bottom of the bin. The new spiral was assembled and two new parts were replaced with help from the video and the diagram and the unit worked well. I ordered a new interface display assembly to replace the cracked/broken face plate. You have to replace the whole interface display as the face plate is built integral with the interface. There is no option to just replace the plastic. The repair was extremely easy and involved prying off the old display with a flat head screwdriver, unplugging the old display, plugging in the new display and snapping it back into position. Ordered the new interface display - this must be the easiest refrigerator repair possible. My version popped right off without even a screw (some models have a screw). There are 3 different sizes of connector to disconnect and hook up to the new board - so you really can't mess that up. Read more
