We replaced the whole timer/clock unit. After discussing the matter with Robin on Thursday night to ensure we were doing the right thing, we ordered the part Friday afternoon, it arrived Saturday morning, and my husband installed the new timer/clock unit before I got home from lunch. Turned power to oven off at breaker box. Opened oven door. Unscrewed 3 Phillips-head screws on chrome trim around control panel. Unscrewed 2 Phillips-head screws holding selector switch. Laid control panel down on top of closed oven door. Removed wires by hand from old switch and connected them to the same terminals on the new switch (the wire connectors pull off easily). Using pliers, snapped off all but the lowest segment of shaft on replacement switch. Put shaft through hole in control... Read more
