The unit had no power to any lights and the digital controls had no life. After a little Google research, I found the circuit and power board panel on the back of the refrigerator. With a Volt meter, I checked power at the input on the circuit board. It had 120V showing. On the output side to the circuit board there was nothing. After finding an excellent video on Youtube that addressed the exact problem I had, I ordered: a defrost heater and also replaced the Thermo Bimetal-Protec, and a sensor. The biggest problem was getting the ice that had formed on the back of my refrigerator to melt. I allowed this to happen on its own without applying heat as I feared heat may damage some of the plastic parts on the refrigerator. What IS remarkable is that within 5 minutes on the phone, the service agent from APP had identified the part and found it in the catalog. By contrast, I spent probably 25 minutes on the phone with Samsung Canada, whose agent had no idea what I was trying to order.
