Mounting screw for refrigerator door hinges and internal components. Replace if stripped, missing, or damaged during hinge repair or door removal.
Ordered the pieces from here. Downloaded the user manual. I never work on appliances but I couldn't justify the $200 a service tech would have charged to fix a $35 part. Followed the manual and removed the door. Replaced the broken plastic pieces. BE VERY CAREFUL not to strip the screws. I did and that's another story. Very easy to fix. I thought that I needed to repair the water supply. But it all looked OK. I had turned the power off for a few minutes hoping to clear any false info from the numerous power outages. And with hours of research, I found some info about the door switch on top of the freezer. It suggested placing a magnet above the switch to silence the noise. This did the trick. Shortly after I heard the ice maker filling. I tested the water feed, and it was working. I then ordered a new switch and replaced it.... Read more

This plastic closing cam mounts at the bottom hinge of the refrigerator door and uses a ramped surface to help the door swing closed on its own when released at a slight angle. It acts as a gravity-assisted door closer to ensure a proper seal. Replace this cam if the refrigerator door no longer self-closes, stays ajar, or if the cam is cracked or worn down.
The repair itself is pretty basic, remove broken parts and replace with new, but the process is much more challenging on the freezer door than on the fridge side since the water lines are routed through the hinge. This is definitely a two person job and you will be laying on the floor to do it. 1st thing is to turn the water off and remove the ice bucket. Remove top trim piece and release upper hinge assembly, support the door. The top hinge must rotate up to slip over the wiring bundle,... Read more
