Replaced turntable. The axels of the small wheels on the turn table degraded after hard usage (20 minutes of near continuous use on small tasks). They would now spark and smoke with noxious fumes. Trivial solution: replace the turn table (the wheels don't seem to be replaceable). Read more

Located inside the microwave cabinet, this component converts standard voltage to lower voltage needed for the control circuits. Replace when the microwave powers on but won't heat, or when control panel lights don't illuminate.
Found a service manual online. Used a volt meter to determine no voltage output from low voltage transformer which controls the display and circuit board. Went online to find the part. Installed it and oven is now working properly. As long as you don't remove the door or mess with the magnitron, oven can be safely repaired without special meters to measure microwave leakage. CALLED APPLIANCE PROS,DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM AND THEY IDENTIFIED THE HEATING THERMAL FUSE AS WELL AS ANOTHER POSSIBLE FUSE.THEY TOLD ME WHERE IT WAS LOCATED IN THE MICRO HOUSING COMPARTMENT AS WELL.RECEIVED IT ON A FRIDAY AND CALLED ON A SATURDAY JUST TO BE SURE I DID NOT SWAP OUT THE WRONG ONE.A WOMEN ASSISTED ME THAT KNEW EXACTLY WHAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT.ITS A NEW WORLD WITH THE INTERNET AND THIS EXPERIENCE WAS A GREAT ONE.
