I replaced the inner door panel, vent grommet, and door boot seal. Replacing these items was pretty straightforward, especially with the repair videos playing in the background. The only "challenging" things were getting the boot attached to the drum area and removing/reattaching the spring+cable around the boot seal. The total time also includes cleaning the inside of the washer and using some anti-rust jelly on the top panel near the detergent door. Washer is working great now. Read more

I ordered a new heating element and two other parts that attached to the heating element. I discovered a wire that broke off which caused the element not to work so I had to put a new female splicer on the broken wire then replaced the element and reattached the wires and everything worked. I had the problem couple years ago I bypassed unbalance switch it worked fine for a couple years and had the same problem again so ruled out unbalanced switch. Door lock light on and checked made sure wax motor pushed out all the way too the second switch for spin check OK, so took a chance on displacement switch x2. My family loves to over load it and also replaced by passed unbalance switch and boom every thing went back to normal. Its also good to clean every thing when apart. Read more

I had to do this by myself and I knew the drum assembly is very heavy. I had watched a video online where they used a strap to hold up the drum. However, my drum had nothing to hook to. So, since I had the front and back off, I slid a 2x4 under the drum from front to back, supported the front of the 2x4, and then lifted the drum with a hydraulic floor jack from the back.
