The compactor failed with the ram down, so the drawer wouldn't open which in turn made the mounting brackets inaccessible. This necessitated sliding a thin oscillating saw blade between the cabinet face frame and the counter top to cut through the brackets. I bought new thrust races, a drive gear kit, bearings and a sprocket. When the bearing went out, the thrust races, washers, one bottom plate, and a sprocket was eaten up by the the chain due to the slack being created. I followed the video for the Drive Gear Kit repair and everything went together well.
