GE no longer makes the shelf support available but Appliancepartspros had somewhat similar part for icemaker bucket that I could adapt. Saved the frig! Customer support was great, friendly, knowledgeable, patient, providing information about the part I needed (no longer available) and the intended use of the part I purchased. Am satisfied with the outcome but 5 stars would have been if GE still provided the missing part to suppliers (they probably didn't expect their frig to last so long!!). Read more
The replacement was made to fit various models. None of the instructions really fit my model. Ended up spending less time actually replacing it than reading the instructions. Took about 15 minutes. Needed a zip tie to hold the wires to back, otherwise the ice drawer would not shut. Works great, faster than the original, makes 8 cubes every 40 minutes. Ice feeler seems more flimsy than the old design which was a lift up wire. New design is a plastic paddle with an on off switch, which could... Read more
Repairman determined the Defrost heater was out. Repairman wanted 3 week to get the part. I have shopped many times before at AppliancePartsPros for other appliance parts. Ordered parts online had them in 3 days. Repairman installed my parts and was shocked I procured what was needed so quickly. Read more

Upon further inspection, there was black “schmutz” on the ice door, and the rubber ice funnel and deflector parts were deteriorating. Because the door was not closing tightly, I also assumed that the door-closing spring was week. The parts I ordered were: ice door assembly, ice funnel, ice deflector, spring and... Read more

I did have to dig out the tiny old broken pieces of glass from the front rubber edging with a knife blade. I tried both a screwdriver and needle nose pliers, but they were shredding the edge. Then I just popped it on and laid the glass in the slots. Super easy! Read more
This recess heater was a last resort 'nuclear' option that I never employed. First repair was to replace the solenoid that keeps the little door from staying open and letting room air back up it. Also replaced the gaskets around both doors which allowed the freezer and fridge sides to stay at the right temp. That seems to have done the trick. To install this part would be a herculean task involving complete and total disassembly of the door and seal 'tracks'...this seemed fraught with... Read more
