This is in a 15 year old Built-in Monogram that had the compressor replaced a few years ago. This replacement part is an ice auger blade, and it is intended for use in different types of appliances. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. Ice auger blades are usually found in ice maker assemblies and are used during the ice-making and dispensing process. These blades are what are used when the user is in need of shaved or crushed ice. This was a very easy repair, the on-line video at AppliancePartsPros.com was helpful. The Helix was spinning freely (meaning, the Auger Blade was not holding it in place on the Auger). Pulling the assembly apart was a snap, and very logical (the video is perfect if you get lost). The family is now enjoying both crushed and cubed ice - and the redesign of the Auger Blade seems to prevent clogging in the ice shoot. Read more
