This is a door interlock switch assembly that detects whether the microwave door is securely closed and signals the control board to allow operation. It is a critical safety component that prevents the microwave from running with the door open. Replace this assembly if the microwave does not start when the door is closed, runs with the door open, or if the unit blows a fuse repeatedly when the door is opened or closed.

I looked up the problem on the Appliance Pros forum and it sounded like the magnetron needed to be replaced. We looked up and ordered the part from Appliance Pros and replaced the magnetron 2 days later when we received it.
