Found a crack in timer knob, where it slides over timer. Ordered new timer knob, pulled off old knob and slid on new knob. Works as new now. Read more
This assembly controls the washing machine's agitation and spin functions through a combination transmission and brake system. It transfers motor power to create the washing and spinning motions while providing proper stopping control. Replaced transmission and brake assembly. The video on appliancepartspros.com was very helpful. A few comments: 1) On my model, there was no wiring harness to unhook to detach the lid switch, as was shown on the video. Instead, I had to remove the switch itself. Underneath, one of the short edges of the switch has a clip that you depress, and then you can poke the switch up. Wife calls - it's broke. Home from work, immediately suspected clutch, V-belt or similar. Could hear the motor running. Founda video on youtube showing how to remove front panel. Looked. Sure enough, motor runs - nothing else turns. Figured the clutch was fragged. Order new clutch. When it arrives, pull the old one off. I ordered a clip retainer which hold the compressor in place. First, I discovered there are four clips and the one which I could easily move or turn by hand I ordered a replacement. The part came fast. In less than two minutes I had completed the repair. Read more
