This socket is an electrical connector that secures a wiring plug to an appliance component, restoring reliable contact and reducing intermittent power or component failures caused by a worn or damaged connector. What it does:
- Provides a stable electrical connection between wiring and the appliance component.
- Ensures consistent power transfer to control boards, motors or heating elements.
- A faulty socket can cause intermittent operation, loss of function, arcing, or a component that does not receive power.
- Replacing a corroded or loose socket can eliminate connection-related faults without replacing the whole assembly.
What's included: One socket. Install notes:
- Always disconnect power (and gas where applicable) before attempting any repair.
- Take a photo or label wires before removing the old socket to ensure correct reassembly.
- Replace only with the exact part; do not force connectors—ensure proper seating and secure fasteners.
- If you see damaged wiring, melted insulation, or signs of arcing, inspect and repair wiring harness.

Dryer light was out Michael B. • Montville , NJ • April 28, 2017
First I tried changing the light bulb. Unfortunately that didn't do the trick. The next thought was the socket itself. I ordered the part from APP, which as usual, was very easy and arrived in 2 days. I removed the back cover from the dryer and easily replaced the socket. Screwed in a new light bulb and we were back in action with light! Truly very simple process.
