This water level pressure switch senses air pressure from the tub and signals the control to stop filling at the correct level. Replacing a weak or failed switch restores proper filling, helps prevent over/underfilling, and allows cycles to advance.
The error code indicated the washer wasn't getting any water, although the basket was filling to an unusually high level. After checking the inlet hoses and their connections but without opening the top cover to see the actual water level pressure switch, I went ahead and ordered the part. After receiving the switch, I opened the cover and found the original switch had fallen off it's mounting (for who-knows how long ago) and was resting against the drum. After draining the plug multiple times, I accidentally touched the water pump and it was hot. Replaced the water pump and all is good. Read more
Replaced control panel. Did a Youtube search for the appliance model. Learned the washer top panel had to be removed to gain access to release a tab inside the machine. Disconnected wires to remove panel. Released tabs to remove electronic control module from control panel. This saved me at least $100 in labor for a service technician. Read more
