Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more

I unplugged the lid switch behind the control panel, bypassed the switch with a wire connected from the neg and positive terminal where the switch would normally plug into and ran the washer through a complete cycle with no problem.....hence the lid switch was faulty. I assume the faulty switch was " telling " the control panel someone was opening and closing the lid, causing the washer to stop and start.....Damn I am good!!!! Read more
