Oven would only heat up to 347° f in bake mode Chris M. • Scottsdale , AZ • October 25, 2021
I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. If you have a built-in microwave + oven combination (mine is KitchenAid Model No. KEMS308SSS05), this is a difficult repair. The engineer who designed this oven should be invited to succeed elsewhere. It is impossible to access the bake element from the inside of the oven, so the How To video associated with this part will not help you. I had to remove the...

The burner on a Whirlpool cook top went to high heat and stayed there once the knob was turned on for the burner. Turning the knob to a lower setting did not lower the heat Jim W. • Houston , TX • June 17, 2019
Had to replace the switch for the left rear burner on a Whirlpool cooktop Model W5CE3625AB00. I turned off the circuit breaker for the cooktop and lifted it out of the countertop. It was simply held down by its own weight. There were approximately a dozen screws holding the smooth surface down onto the rest of the unit. I removed those screws, which allowed the cooking surface to lift back on a hinge in the back of the unit. Two of those screws were stripped, but I was able to remove them...

One surface element and part of the top glass are broken Jason S. • Cupertino , CA • November 18, 2014
First, I just unscrewed all nuts that are holding the frame and all surface elements. Once all parts, surface elements, control switches, are loose from the original glass, I just moved all parts to the new glass. Due to the weight of the glass, all actions have to be done carefully as I broken one corner of the glass couple of years ago when I replaced one of the control switch.

Simple 10 minute swap out. Power off the cook top, removed the knob and rubber seal, used a small phillips screwdriver to remove the 2 screws securing the switch, removed access cover below and pulled the defective switch out, replace the gasket on the new switch and reconnect the wires.
