With the help of a representative at appliance parts pros. it was determined to be one of three things. 1) The suspension rods. 2)cracks in the stater 3) State of on the bearings and shaft.
I thought the suspension springs were the problem. Ruled that out by lifting the drum and letting it fall, and observing the bounce. There should be no bounce. I did go to the extent of removing each rod and cleaning it.
Next step, expose the stater by removing the motor housing. No cracks.
