While I was replacing springs I decided to replace the gasket since I couldn't clean it anymore. Unfortunately that was on back order so I can't fix it just yet. I have taken this LG machine apart already and it is easy to work on. I love all the videos online that go step by step. This repair is simple. I opted to save myself about $600 by repairing my 8 year old LG washing machine rather than buying a new one. I ended up replacing the tub (includes spider and shaft), since I could not get the spider part removed from the original tub, as well as the motor bolt (which had broken when I removed it from the original tub's shaft). I bought the outer drum assembly. Fairly easy to change. Took about 2 1/2 hours to do. Hardest part was wrestling the drum assemblance in and out of the washer body. Read more
