While I was replacing springs I decided to replace the gasket since I couldn't clean it anymore. Unfortunately that was on back order so I can't fix it just yet. I have taken this LG machine apart already and it is easy to work on. I love all the videos online that go step by step. This repair is simple. I had a difficult time with the spring around the gasket. I think the tool for getting that back on may be worth the $. I would hate to damage the gasket getting the new one on. I... Read more
This printed circuit board, otherwise known as a PCB, is an electrical component found in washing machines. The function of a PCB is to house all of the electrical parts for the washing machine operation. A good way to think of a PCB is that it's the brain of the appliance. Almost every function of the washing machine is controlled by this part. The PCB could become damaged if water has access to it and it shorts out. If the washing machine is not functioning, it is possible that the PCB could be bad. However, it's important to properly diagnose the issue at hand to ensure the correct parts are ordered to fix the problem. This part is sold individually. It's a genuine OEM part that comes straight from the manufacturer. This specific PCB is compatible with washing machines that are manufactured by LG.
Troubleshooting process: Verify 120V to machine, verify 120V output from noise filter, verify 120V into main power board (PCB). Main power board LED not on. This says board is bad. To remove board remove a couple of the closest wiring harness tie downs, this will allow you to remove the connectors from the board a little more easily. TAKE PICTURES BEFORE to insure all goes back together the same. Though the connectors cannot be plugged into the wrong spots as they are all different, pictures... Read more
I watched your you tube video explaining the location and removal process , I spent literally two minutes to remove the old board , located the factory part number on the old part, typed it in On the search bar on your site , ordered it , received it within 3 days , installed the new part in two minutes , plugged the refrigerator back in and it operated like brand new . A local appliance repair shop wanted 4x the cost of what I spent doing it myself and the complete process of removing,... Read more
Repair was straight foward and fairly simple. Removed 4 Phillips screws from rear top of washer and lid slid back and off very easily exposing the internals of the washing machine. Smoke could be seen coming from main control board when it was plugged in so cause was fairly easy to isolate. Opened case of control box to access plug connectors. There are about 10 plugs of different sizes and colors. Simply unplugged all connectors and removed old unit. Installed new unit and plugged in all... Read more
I opted to save myself about $600 by repairing my 8 year old LG washing machine rather than buying a new one. After watching some videos I determined what I needed upon taking my washing machine apart. I ended up replacing the tub (includes spider and shaft), since I could not get the spider part removed from the original tub, as well as the motor bolt (which had broken when I removed it from the original tub's shaft). The spider was cracked and the shaft was wobbling which caused it to... Read more
