It is difficult (if not impossible) to remove the electronic switches from the hard plastic latches. I replaced all three switches and both the upper and lower latches I also replaced the main 20 amp ceramic fuse which blew out when the latch/switches failed. Read more

Very easy fix. Unplugged microwave, then lowered bottom panel, removed the two leads to the turntable motor, removed two screws attached to motor, removed old motor, put new spacer on motor stem, installed motor with same two screws, reattached the two wires, reattached panel ( after cleaning all the grease that built up over the last 6 years), plugged microwave in and good as new! The grill vent is only held in place by two screws. Super simple fix. Remove the two screws and the old grill vent, position the new vent and put the two screws back in. Replacing the cord required that cabinet to be removed. Lots of screws on the back, top and bottom. Once the screws were removed, the cabinet pulled back. Ordered Genuine Whirlpool parts from Appliance Parts Pros and had them in 3 days. Replaced fan motor and squirrel cage assembly. Having never taken a microwave apart it took longer to disassemble than replace the part. Whirlpool did change a couple micro switches on door interlock so you have to switch them out from the old interlock or put new wire terminals on wires to use new ones. Read more
