I replaced a broken part which attaches the hinge to the lid spring assembly and replaced both hinges which were twisted/bent. The springs themselves were ok but a part in the assembly had broken so one spring was shouldering the entire weight of the lid and the hinges had twisted. This machine is not that old and it seems as though the glass lid is a little too heavy for the hinges. I had a problem with the drain pump on my Kenmore HE3 and I replaced it using a drain pump I ordered from APP. That fixed that problem but once I started running the washer I started getting a FH error code. I looked it up and found that it was a problem with the washer not filling properly. I pulled the washer out and found that one of the fill hoses had kinked when I pushed the washer back in place. There was also some writing on the hose that read "Change hose every five years". Watched u tube video. Ordered replacement water inlet valve and new hoses. Dismantled washer and replaced defective valve and installed new hoses. The repair went very easily and the washer worked perfectly as a result. Read more

Fixing the problem was quite simple. First, I removed the lid assembly (thanks to the diagrams supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com!). Getting the back two screws out was very difficult because I couldn't see them from the front and I could not move the unit out of the enclosed space. After some trial and error, I located the screws which were 5/16 hex head screws and removed them with a MAGNETIC nut driver. - Didn't see any other leaks in machine. No grinding transmission noise. Assumed seal on transmission shaft was bad, since it was a central leak down the rotor. It was a little more difficult to dissemble than the video showed, but not too bad. Got it all back together and seems to be working well. No leaks yet. Didn't need washer in parts diagram - was already on the transmission. Also the drain pump filter was not necessary, it can just be cleaned. Read more
