Ordered new rotor, with integrated Hub, but it arrived damaged (there was a broken magnet). I was able to use the new hub on my old rotor (3 bolts attach it, but you can't buy just the Hub). Washer kept unbalancing, I found one of the shocks had lost it's pin. I replaced the three shock absorbers, springs and also water valves since the old ones were clogged. The top comes off very easily (two screws) to access the water valves. I used a hand truck to lay it on it's side and with the back removed I had access to everything without taking the front off. through the back and large access hole in the bottom, a major time saver. This seal has a drain hole. If your model does not have a drain hole, order part# 4986ER0001A.
Replaced the seal. Washer didn’t have a drain hole and this seal is no longer available. So I ordered the seal with a drain hole. The seal fits perfectly but I had to make a plug and use silicone to plug the drain hole. Read more
After checking online for a replacement Gasket I was informed that the Spider Arm could be broken and after watching the Appliance Parts Pro video, I dismantled the washing machine and found that the Aluminum Spider Arm, which was resting on the dissimilar metal of the Stainless Steel Tub, was in fact broken in 3 places. This water inlet valve is a genuine OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in washing machines. The water inlet valve is the gatekeeper for the water flow into the washer. When the operator sets the wash cycle, the solenoid fires up and tells the valve to open the gate for hot or cold water or both to fill the washer tub. When the tub has filled to a preset level, the valve gates close and the water flow stops. If this valve fails, the water will not stop and will eventually flood or the water might not be signaled to flow at all. This repair requires a Phillips screwdriver and pliers. Disconnect the power source and turn the water off before working on the washing machine. Remove the back panel from the washer and locate the inlet valve. Disconnect the hoses from the valve. Remove the damaged valve. Install the new inlet valve. Connect the hoses in the same order they were removed and put the back panel on the washer. Reconnect the water and power.This water inlet valve is made of molded plastic and is individually sold. It does not include screws. It is made specifically for washing machines manufactured by LG.
I found other posts on AppliancePartsPros.com to be helpful. Most people and pros indicated that it was the Cold Water intake valve which has 4 solenoids on it. I watched the video to replace the Hot Water valve which is right next to it. My washer opened differently than the one in the video but it was not hard to figure out.
