Keep the refrigerator's rear fan assembly secure and airflow on track with this fan orifice bracket. It supports the fan shroud/orifice so the motor and blade stay aligned, helping maintain proper cooling and reduce vibration.
The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section. Parts cost around... Read more

This is a GE refrigerator defrost heater assembly. The defrost heater assembly is the component responsible for defrosting the freezer compartment. If the refrigerator has been having trouble defrosting or making loud noises when the defrost heater turns on, this part could need a replacement. When this part malfunctions there could be a noticeable increase in ice building up in the freezer compartment. This situation should be fixed quickly because the increasing ice could damage other parts. Start any repairs by unplugging the refrigerator first. Take all the shelves out of the freezer and remove the freezer light shield. Unthread the two screws securing the rear freezer panel inside of the freezer. Detach the clip and remove the panel. The defrost heater should be accessible at this point. This part is located near the bottom of the freezer. Unthread the screws holding it in place and disconnect it from its wiring. Repeat these steps in reverse to install the new appliance. This is a genuine OEM replacement product sourced directly from GE. This heater assembly is only available individually and is not included with other parts.

I ordered a replacement auger from AppliancePartsPros.com. Upon receipt of the new auger, I watched the repair video and took the ice crusher apart. I found another video on YouTube that walked me through specific details of assembly and everything went... Read more

I purchased a used 42" GE Monogram refrigerator. It originally retailed for $5,600 and I paid $2,200. Everything was supposed to be in good working condition...but the ice maker didn't work. It was under warranty but rather than wait on them to come fix it, I got online and found Appliance Parts Pro. I found exactly what I needed, watched the video and replaced the ice maker myself. I am not a "fix-it" kind of guy, but this was extremely easy. Read more

This was a very easy repair, the on-line video at AppliancePartsPros.com was helpful. The Helix was spinning freely (meaning, the Auger Blade was not holding it in place on the Auger). Pulling the assembly apart was a snap, and very logical (the video is perfect if you get lost). The family is now enjoying both crushed and cubed ice - and the redesign of the Auger Blade seems to prevent clogging in the ice shoot. Read more
