Distortion spring that applies tension within the dryer mechanism. Replace if fatigued, broken, or missing to restore proper tension and assembly function.
Pivoting lever inside the dispenser that supports the ice chute extension. Replace if broken, cracked, or worn to restore smooth dispenser operation.
Repairman said I'd need to replace the entire chute inside at a cost of nearly $400! Ordered the chute myself for a little over $100. Took me about a half an hour to carefully disassemble the water/ice dispenser and replace with the new one. The job wasn't hard, I'm just not a very "handy" guy but I love a good challenge and am very careful not to pull and pry on things which may break. It was literally only 4 screws that had to be removed and some wiring harnesses holding everything together.... Read more
Fix dishwasher overflows and leaks with a new float assembly. Controls water level to prevent overfilling. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. The Float Switch Kit (attached to, and below the float, below and outside the tank) has a folding plastic cover which fastens with plastic clips. If you open the switch kit before removing the... Fix a dishwasher that won't drain or makes loud buzzing/grinding noises. This drain pump assembly restores proper water removal. Moderate DIY repair.
I drained the dishwasher by hand, disconnected power, water, and drain under the sink. I removed the screws holding the dishwasher in place. I located the pump with the online owners manual and removed it leaving the power connected. I put the machine on the rinse cycle and then hit cancel, the pump is supposed to come on, it didn't, I tried it twice, each time it would start if I manually started it spinning. So I ordered a new drain pump and reversed the removal procedure. Everything worked... Read more

Covers and protects the ice container in your refrigerator. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to keep ice fresh and prevent contamination.
Suspension damper shock absorber for front-load washers. Replaces cracked, weak, or broken shocks causing excessive vibration and off-balance loads.
I researched the problem and found that normal wear and tear will cause the Damper shocks and the Suspension spring to fail. I decided to replace all Damper Shocks and the suspension Springs since I had the washer apart already. The Suspension Spring requires a lot of pull to get it in place correctly. I made a hook tool (from political yard sign frame) to hook the old spring to remove and pull the new spring up. It helps to have a second person use leverage (use a short 2x2 board) under the... This door spring counterbalances the door so it opens smoothly and doesn't drop. Replacing a fatigued or broken spring restores proper door feel and helps protect hinges and related components from excess strain.
This is an easy home-owner repair! 1. Get down on the floor with a flashlight and a 5/16 nut driver, and remove the two screws holding the lower panel. Those screws are located beneath the lower panel, so you'll have your head on the floor to see 'em! 2. Lift the lower panel up and out. 3. Using the nut driver, remove the two kick-plate screws and lay the kick-plate aside. 4. Discard the broken spring. 5, Look at the remaining spring to determine where the spring should hook. 6. Hook... Read more
