This piece fails due to poor design as the weak point of the part you grab to open the dishwasher door. This defect has been reported by a number of owners as a common failure point on this model dishwasher. This is a $90 piece of plastic and yes, it does the job of restoring the DW to fully functional. But due to the inherent design, this part is subject to failing again unless you remember to open the DW a bit gently, and not yank it open
