Dryer not heating or overheating? This temperature switch regulates heat levels in your washer dryer combo. Common fix for temperature control issues.
This is a rotary or push-type selector switch that controls the water temperature setting on the washer's control panel. It routes electrical signals to the water inlet valve to select hot, warm, or cold wash and rinse cycles. Replace this switch if the washer fills with the wrong water temperature, does not respond to temperature selections, or only fills with cold or hot water regardless of the setting.
If your washer won't advance cycles or overfills, the pressure switch likely failed. This DIY repair restores water level sensing in 15-30 minutes.
First I unplugged the power cord for the washer. I removed the back plate of the control panel. Then removed the knob and unscrewed the screw holding the broken pressure switch. I then swapped the three electrical cables one at a time and placed on the new pressure switch. Then I put the screw in to hold the switch in place. I replaced the knob, plugged in the washer and turned it on. The appliance immediately worked. Read more
This is a temperature selector switch used in a washing machine to control the water temperature setting for wash and rinse cycles. It connects to the control panel and signals the water inlet valves to mix hot and cold water according to the selected setting. Replace this switch if the washer does not respond to temperature selections, only fills with one water temperature, or if the switch knob feels loose or unresponsive.
This is a pressure-activated switch that monitors the water level inside the washer tub. It signals the control board to stop filling when the correct water level is reached and helps initiate the wash and drain cycles. Replace this switch if the washer overfills, underfills, does not fill at all, or fails to advance through cycles properly.

Fix a refrigerator that clicks but won't start or hums without cooling. This start relay is a common DIY fix that takes just minutes to install.
Looked on the web, where many sites indicated it was probably the starter relay. The hardest part was taking off the plastic cover so I could get to the relay! Once the cover was off, the relay was easy to take off. I shook and it made a noise -- another indication, according to the web, that the relay was bad. I looked up the part, found it online, and was happy when its pictures matched the starter relay I had. Ordered the part. When it arrived, it only took a few minutes to install it... Read more
