The Infinite Switch is an OEM part for GE electric ranges. It regulates precise temperature settings for the bake and surface elements. This is specifically for 6" inch elements.

Used a muiltimeter to test all parts and ohm'ed out all parts. found out condenser fan motor seized up [open winding in motor] replaced that, and found that also caused the compressor overload and relay to fail, from over heating and over cycling, replaced both parts, powered up the refrigerator retested all electrical parts checked amp reading on all parts under load conditions,works good know, hope to get another 15 years out of this refrigator, its a maytag. over 20 years old. Turn the power off to the range. Pull off the black control knob. Remove 6 - 5/16 screws in back of the range behind the controls panel. Take out 2 screws (behind the control knob) in front that hold the control swirch in the panel. Turned off power. Removed cover over back of fan control switch. Unscrewed nut holding old switch in place. Removed clear plastic wire coverings. Hardest part of job. Photographed wires. Removed wires of old switch and replaced with wires from new switch. Had an extra green wire since old switch did not have a ground. Secured switch in panel with nut that came with it. Filled tub to about 6 inches and inspected washer. Noticed that the tube leading from the air entrapment bubble on the exterior side of the drum had a small leak in it.
