Noise Filter
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11175842

The Noise Filter is an OEM part for Whirlpool built-in wall ovens. It is installed inside the oven cavity near components that produce vibrations, such as the convection fan motor.

Causes of a faulty noise filter include the degradation of noise-dampening materials over many heating and cooling cycles. Physical damage from accidental impact during cleaning could also compromise its sound-blocking ability.

Symptoms of a bad noise filter include:

  • Excessive buzzing or humming noises emitted from the oven cavity
  • Louder than normal fan or component sounds carrying into the kitchen
  • Vibrations felt externally on the oven chassis during operation

This OEM replacement fits several Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and Jenn-Air wall oven models.

Refrigerator Dispenser Interface
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR55X23236

This OEM part is a refrigerator dispenser interface. The dispenser interface is responsible for the main functions of the refrigerator, such as adjusting the temperature settings as well as the other functions that are displayed on the interface. If the refrigerator is no longer cooling efficiently, failing to maintain temperature, dispensing water, or the touchpad is unresponsive, the interface might need to be replaced. Thankfully, replacing this part is not a difficult process. To replace the old interface, make sure that all power to the refrigerator is turned off. Open the refrigerator door and remove the door panel of the interior of the refrigerator. Locate the old control board and remove the wire harnesses that connect to it. Take note of the wire connector's orientation and reinsert the wires to the new board. Snap the new interface back in place and reinstall the inner panel. This genuine replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand refrigerators.

I ordered the control board because the old one had many (about 30) opens on the back of the control board and the plastic cover for it was warped. Helpful notes; put front cover on before you connect the wiring. This will save you hours of being mad! All the plugins have different ends, you can't screw it up! Third note, those little plastic light transmitters can be put in wrong and it will not go together. Tabs go in! The one set by the start button can be put in backwards and looks correct.... I put in a new oven control board. So instead of putting the temp knob 80 degrees higher than it should, I dont have to do that anymore. The best part is I get to make our gingerbread houses as gifts! Because of a great support staff that worked on sunday the two gals there know their stuff. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The refrigerator section was not staying cold as before and the noise was louder than normal   Stephen S. • Flagstaff , AZ • July 11, 2015

At first, I suspected the evaporator fan motor was going bad, but when I went in to check it out, I found the evaporator coils totally frozen up; the fan was cavitating. I defrosted the coils completely and checked everything out. By process of elimination the Defrost timer had to be the culprit. I unplugged the timer and sure enough, the motor winding was open. Replacing the defrost timer fixed my problem. Troubleshooting (using the information available on your web site) took a little... Read more
