Genuine Ge part

Part Number: WP28X10014
This is a high-limit thermostat that monitors the temperature of the heater element in a window or room air conditioner equipped with supplemental heat. It acts as a safety device by cutting power to the heater if temperatures exceed safe levels, preventing overheating and potential fire hazards. Replace this thermostat if the heater shuts off prematurely, fails to turn on, or if the unit is tripping due to overheating.

Lid switch washer Michael D. • Ambler , PA • November 03, 2014
Lid switch problem. Easy to fix, not so easy to diagnose. First thing to look at if something goes wrong and there does not appear to overtly be mechanical issue like pump, etc.

Low water flow from dispenser Christopher H. • The Woodlands , TX • October 24, 2015
Tried buying a new filter, still no flow, bought the bypass cap, still no flow. I then purchased the filter housing assembly and within five mins or receiving the part had full flow restored. I saw a lot of comments bashing filter suppliers when researching this issue, but like in my case I bet it was the filter housing unit. Thanks for quick delivery, and easy website.

This thermodisc temperature switch senses refrigerator evaporator temperature and helps control defrost and cooling cycles to prevent overcooling or prolonged defrost runs. It's a compact replacement part for temperature regulation systems. What it does:
- Opens or closes an electrical circuit based on temperature to signal defrost or compressor control
- Helps stop defrost heater when the evaporator reaches target temperature
- Can prevent extended cooling cycles when the sensed temperature indicates the system has reached desired cold
- Restores normal cycling when a failed thermostat causes continuous run or no cooling
What's included: One thermodisc temperature switch Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing to avoid shock or injury
- Confirm location and orientation with the appliance wiring diagram before removal
- Handle the sensor element carefully; avoid bending or damaging the capillary/sensing tip
- After installation, observe normal defrost and cooling cycles

Leaking water from center bottom of machine Thomas N. • Pleasant Mount , PA • April 05, 2026
- Didn't see any other leaks in machine. No grinding transmission noise. Assumed seal on transmission shaft was bad, since it was a central leak down the rotor. It was a little more difficult to dissemble than the video showed, but not too bad. Got it all back together and seems to be working well. No leaks yet. Didn't need washer in parts diagram - was already on the transmission. Also the drain pump filter was not necessary, it can just be cleaned.
