Replaced the water inlet valve assembly. That reduced the leakage to a smaller amount but did not fully stop the leakage. Replaced the ice maker assembly and that completed the repair. No leakage issues and ice maker is working with no issues. Read more

Replaced the water line and water supply solenoid valve (slight weeping at valve body also). This is a 3 year old whirlpool refrigerator, model WRX988SIBM00. A crack in the water line after only 3 years is a poor design. My intent was to replace the entire water line from the valve to the filter. It was one of 3 things basically, motherboard, pressure sensor or fill valve. I tried cleaning the pressure sensor to no avail. I proceeded to replace both the valve and the sensor because the parts were very inexpensive and the cost of a motherboard wasn't worth it. Recently my Kenmore dishwasher would start but would not fill with water. A quick test of the float switch reflected proper operation, AND voltage was being delivered TO the contact on the water inlet valve. I then removed power and checked for continuity on the contacts. Using instructions I obtained over the internet, I first removed the DW's bottom cover panels so I could look inside the DW (with a flashlight) while it was running. I had to put their dishwasher through several wash cycles before I could pinpoint the location of the leak. To verify if you have a bad valve in the first place read on... I first pulled out the ice maker to remove all the frozen water including the inlet section which was a huge solid waterfall of ice. While it was out completely disconnected I cleaned/chipped out the freezer section ice puddle. I also completely melted the ice cubes and ice puddles off the ice maker at the fill bucket end in the sink with running water careful to not get water near the power cord area. Replaced both inlet valves, no joy. Upon further inspection, found ice maker harness extremely tight at lower freezer door hinge, clamped in place right at a pivot point. Essentially the harness is held in place and rotates with the door. 6 wires broken inside. Splice repair and ice maker now works. Most likely will have to replace harness eventually. Unless there is more slack inside the freezer door this will probably happen again. Very poor design. Read more

After trying several things, I ordered the pressure sensor and water valve as they seem like likely culprits of the problem. I first changed the pressure sensor and the washer worked fine for three loads sat overnight and then e11 the next morning. I changed the water valve that day and the washer seems to be working fine now. This is on Electrolux front load washer. Googled part # for OEM part, found AppliancePartsPros with competitive pricing and fast delivery, placed order on Wednesday, had it on Friday for a few bucks more. Ordered the valve body from Appliance Parts Pro. It was very easy to find the part on their website. Ordering was simple. The part actually got here the next day. I received an email about 2 hours after I received the part that contained the tracking number. That is what is known as quick and reliable service. I replaced both the solenoid (part of the inlet valve kit) and the pressure sensor. Online research suggested my intermittent issue with the cold water fill being just a trickle and then causing an error was likely due to one or both of those two parts failing. Since they are in the same spot it was suggested (and I agree) that it is best to replace both at the same time.
