The basin would fill but would not agitate, there was no sound, no grinding noises, no sound of a motor running without agitation due to a broken belt. I had had the same problem 4 or 5 years ago and spent close to $200 to repair it. I did have the slip from that repair with part #'s so I went ahead and ordered a defrost timer and thermostat. This is the button or lever assembly mounted on the front panel of the refrigerator dispenser. It activates the water or ice dispenser when pressed. Replace this assembly if the dispenser button is cracked, sticking, unresponsive, or if the dispenser no longer activates when the lever is pushed.

Turn off power to machine, Take off door panel - 12 screws. hold up door panel a bit and make sure to remove the ribbon from the touch pad to the control module (use some pliers to rock it out of the board).
