I ordered a new switch from APP and fixed my fridge. However, the video posted for this repair on this site is not applicable to newer refrigerator models. I have a 2015 GE GTE18IHCRSS and had to drop the control housing (#432 in the diagram) to attach the wire/plug assembly to the switch. Only had to remove the front screw with a 1/4" nut driver and that provided enough of a gap for me to plug in the switch. Looked at the diagnostic help on Appliance Parts Pros.com and the start switch was the problem, but only 25% of the time, so I was a little concerned it may be a different problem. The switch was reasonably priced, so I ordered it and it arrived in two days! Background: Roper Electric Dryer model REX6634RQ0 purchased new in early 2006 by my wife. Dryer use profile is low to moderate as it was used by only one person (working from home) from 2006 to late 2007 then moved and stored in a dry basement until mid 2009. Moved and used by primarily just two people (plus occasional children visits) from mid-2009 thru late 2011 with three moves involved with in that time. The timer knob simply pulls off the shaft with a solid, steady pull. Cleaned the timer cavity of lint/dust buildup. Aligned the keying flat of the shaft and knob and pushed the new knob on with careful, steady pressure until it was obviously seated. No tools required other than a vacuum. The door switch would sometimes not shut the dryer off when the door was opened. New switch came with new fast-on connectors. Replacing the inlet valve solved the problem. The old valve was somehow clogged with white sediment. I probably could have taken it off and cleaned it out if I'd known, but replacing the valve was much easier. Took about half an hour to repair. Video walk through was extremely helpful. • Will not fill with water

Cycle would complete but dishes weren't clean (not even really wet) and soap wasn't dissolving. Could hear fill at start but maybe not spraying or filling again in cycle. Thought it was the control board, but actually this was not the error. Replaced the control board and same problem arose, only new control board version actually stopped cycle with message that dishwasher couldn't fill. The first symptom was our microwave would continue to run after the time was up. The light would go out, the turn table would stop but you could still hear the microwave running and whatever was in it would continue to cook. The only way to stop it was to open the door. Removed water out of basin, down to the last inch.. Watched water rise slowly, and felt temperature, warm. This told me it was supply water. Ordered replacement part, two days just as mentioned, Removed as per video. Also choose to replace the waste line check valve, to affordable not too. I was trying to troubleshot a problem I had with my GE dryer not starting. I went to AppliancePartsPros.com because they have excellent DYI videos on how to make repairs. I determined that the problem was in the push start switch. I ordered the switch online and it took 3 days to arrive. It took 5 minutes to replace the switch and the dryer works perfectly. Read more

It was one of 3 things basically, motherboard, pressure sensor or fill valve. I tried cleaning the pressure sensor to no avail. I proceeded to replace both the valve and the sensor because the parts were very inexpensive and the cost of a motherboard wasn't worth it. It is very simple to fix. All the blogs recommend replacement of this part but do not explain why. This is a normally open check valve that permits the water from inside the dishwasher to drain out, either once it gets too high or just general splash. When the machine drains the pump comes on and the check valve closes. If the check valve is damaged or worn (like mine was) some of the water can pump back into the machine.
