Electronic Control Board (Main Control)
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 216954202

This electronic control board manages the appliance's user interface and core control functions, restoring reliable operation when the original board fails. It replaces a damaged or unresponsive control module to help regain normal appliance control. What it does:

  • Sends and receives signals to operate timers, relays, and display functions.
  • Controls user inputs and on/off sequencing for the appliance's systems.
  • Common symptoms of a failing board: unresponsive controls, blank or erratic display, cycles not starting or stopping, or intermittent operation.
  • Use this board to replace units exhibiting control or display faults that other components have not resolved.
What's included: One electronic control board (assembly). Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance before starting any repair.
  • Handle the board by the edges and avoid touching components; use an ESD strap if available.

Run Capacitor (Refrigerator Compressor)
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 297286810

This run capacitor helps the refrigerator compressor start and run smoothly, restoring normal operation when a weak or failed capacitor causes the compressor to struggle. Replacing a faulty capacitor can reduce humming and improve cooling performance. What it does:

  • Provides continuous phase-shift to the compressor motor for stable running.
  • Helps maintain proper compressor speed and efficiency during operation.
  • Commonly replaced when the compressor hums, won't stay running, or cooling is inconsistent.
  • Reduces risk of repeated motor cycling caused by a weak or open capacitor.
What's included: One run capacitor. Install notes:
  • Always disconnect power to the appliance before accessing electrical components.
  • Discharge the capacitor before handling; capacitors can hold a charge even when powered off.
  • Observe terminal orientation and mounting location; replace with the same type and ratings.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lg refrigerator wound not start   Steve S. • Peoria , AZ • May 28, 2016

For an emergency fix I installed a 3 in1 kit disabling the original start cap and wiring in the original run cap to the run winding. Ordered the proper PTC and overload from Appliance Parts Pros and installed them 2 weeks later. The original start and run capacitor were good, rewired back to design specs. The original PTC had pins 1,2 and 3, the replacement had 2,3 and 4. Only wiring change was to install the red wire from pin 1 on the original PTC to pin 4 on the new PTC. Read more
