The Drain Hose is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It serves as the connection that allows dirty water to exit the dishwasher tub and flow into the water drain system after each wash cycle. The hose transports wastewater from inside the dishwasher out through the standpipe.
Causes of a bad drain hose can include mineral or food debris buildup blocking water flow within the hose, cracks or breaks in the plastic material from repeated bending, or a loose or damaged hose clamp connection.
Symptoms of a drain hose failure include:
- Standing water remaining in the bottom of the tub after a cycle
- Puddles or leaks developing near or underneath the dishwasher
- Water failing to properly drain during the designated drain portion of cycles
- Kinks or sagging appearing in the hose affecting water drainage

I figured out that it was probably a plugged pump hose, since the pump would run, it somtimes it drained and sometimes it didn't. Your video helped with how to take the dishwasher out and replace the hose. I replaced the hose and everything is now working fine. It turned out to be a broken check valve in the old hose that caused the problem. It took 90 mins to do the repair.
