This is a flat insulator cover that sits over the waveguide opening inside the microwave cavity. It protects the magnetron's waveguide from food splatter and grease buildup while allowing microwave energy to pass through. Replace this cover if it is burned, scorched, cracked, or has visible arcing marks, which can cause sparking during operation.
I tried getting this part from my knemore microwave on the Sears site. I chatted with someone, my part was backordered and when it finally came 2 months later it was wrong.
