This manifold panel is the painted front trim piece that mounts across a gas range's manifold area to protect internal components and restore the appliance's finished appearance. It replaces damaged or dented front manifold trim. What it does:
Replace your range's worn, cracked, or unresponsive touch pad control panel. This membrane switch interface installs on the front control panel.
Took off the the front panel. First removed the knobs, then the four screws above each knob stem. With oven door open removed four screws under the front door oven panel. Last removed the two side screws on the oven control. Keeping hold of the front unit. Then removed the pigtail attached to the panel and the ground screw. Now the unit is detached. Thin keypad membrane behind your range control console. Replace when buttons stop responding, register intermittently, or the pad is cracked or worn.
Replacing the switch membrane restored full function. Relatively easy. Had to pull stove out just a few inches to provide access to two side screws holding control enclosure. Then four screws on bottom edge just above oven door. Then a screw above each burner control. And one screw on the top edge at each corner (right screw additionally holding a ground wire). A very common problem with the GE oven is the dreaded F7 error code. I purchased the control board as well as the keypad and replaced both. The error code could have been either part but since I saw a lot of grease, I chose to change out both even though I isolated the problem to the keypad only. By resetting the error first by hitting the clock button on the keypad, turning off the power,disconnecting the keypad, then turning back on the power if the code doesn't come back it's the keypad. ...
