David W Cottondale , FL November 30, 2015 Appliance: Model DLGX3371W Natural gas to lp conversion for new dryer Ordered conversion kit from Appliance Parts Pros.com and installed it myself. Most difficult part of the repair, was the removal of the front casing of the dryer to access the location of venturi tube to be changed out. The instructions were helpful, but not specific enough for my dryer. Once the casing was off, the job was not too difficult - you will need a set of short screwdrivers to remove the burner flange and close the pressure adjustment screw, normal length screw drivers will come into contact with the drum above. John J Miami , FL September 01, 2020 Appliance: Model 796.91182310 Gas dryer runs but no heat. Removed top, controller, brace over front panel, front panel. Plugged controller back into main board and test ran dryer. No igniter glow. Using Tech Service Sheet and multi-meter, checked for open circuited components. Found the reset-able high temperature switch tripped (reset it) and the other high temperature switch open circuited. Both of these are mounted to the flame chute. Jumpered out the open high temperature switch and test ran the dryer. Igniter began to glow, the gas solenoids opened and the flame started. This was done to prove that all the other components worked. However, the flame was very large, too hot and yellow. There is no natural gas here, only LP gas. Dryers are fitted for natural gas and need to be converted in the field if LP gas is used. The large flame would have been the cause of the high temperature switch failing. Probably also scorched a few sheets too. Replaced both high temperature switches and installed the conversion kit for LP gas. Read More...
