William K Gettysburg , PA August 22, 2014 My old door latch was not making a consistent connection the diswaher wouldd stop mid cycle and you had to jiggle it to get it to finish I turned off the power then removed the six or so screws from the back of the top panel. I marked the two front wires on the latch with tape so I would not get them confused. I removed the two screws holding the latch on--these take a six pointed star bit on the screw driver--the bit is in most screw driver sets with interchangeable heads. I then connected the wires to the new latach and put everything back together. The whole process took between ten and fifteen minutes. Harold B Brandon , MS June 16, 2014 Broken door handls It would have been much easier if there had been some instructions with the part. I replaced the door handle with the Dishwasher Door Latch Kit I received from ApplianceParts Pros.com and the replacement of the part was very easy. The hard part was getting the low front of the door back on. The lower part did not need to be removed but I did not know that. I removed all the screws around the inside of the door (eight Phillips head screws) to get to the door handle. Little did I know that only the top four screws needed to be removed. The lower front part of the door is a real pain to put on because gravity sucks. You have to hold up the lower outside part of the door while the door is open and move it to line up the screw holes while holding the screw in one hand and the screwdriver in the other. When I counted the number of hands I needed, I came up one short. I eventually got it on using magic. I shopped the internet for quite a while and AppliancePartsPros.com had without a doubt the best price and their shipping was very quick. All in all, the job wasn't hard at all. It just took a lot longer than it should have. Read More... 32 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
